Commment 1: Ive been training BJJ Muay Thai and MMA at Ivey League MMA for about 18 months now. After checking out a few schools in the Annapolis/Severna Park area Bowie and by my work in Odenton Danny Ives is the best teacher and has one of the best programs around. Its a real family atmosphere from the kids martial arts and self defense classes to the intense advanced classes we all push hard and help each other get better. I was able to lose 50lbs and in about a year thanks to the workouts that Coach Danny puts us through!
Commment 2: Our whole family trains with Danny Ives. Our son Seth 9 has been training with Danny for two years now. Within that small amount of time we have seen Seth grow in so many ways. Seth started competing after about one month of training. With Dannys excellent coaching style Seth was able to learn at an impressive pace sweeping the intermediate division in NAGA and Grapplers Quest and moving into the adivision within his first year of training. Danny then trained Seth and traveled with us to Los Angeles CA where Seth competed in the International Pan Ams bringing home a 3rd place medal! Dannys extensive knowledge and background is far beyond that of most instructors. He instructs students of all ages from children to adults and its always in depth training that you cant find just anywhere.
Commment 3: My son Brendan affectionately nicknamed Spike by Danny has been training in BJJ and MMA techniques for the past 2 years with Danny Ives from the Annapolis/Bowie area. His kids martial arts program and training style has literally spoiled us for any other coach he is just that good! The most important thing for anyone to know about Danny Ives is that he is not only developing fighters he is developing people of real character both on and off the mat. Danny accompanied our son to the Pan Am Competition in Los Angeles this past February and even though Brendan lost unfairly due to a controversial occurrence during his first match the AMAZING sportsmanship our son maintained throughout that difficult situation is purely a result of the superior coaching he has received from Danny. It is also important to recognize that until the final seconds of that Pan Am match Spike was winning based on his smart strategy and great technical game also a result of his training with such a phenomenal instructor. Danny has helped not just Brendan but our entire family as we have struggled through various difficulties over the past couple of years and there is just no way to express our appreciation for him on so many levels. To us the black belt around Dannys waist signifies way more than incredible fighting skills although those are certainly pretty impressive it signifies his deep commitment to his training his students his development as a human being and his incredible dedication to the betterment of people through the avenue of BJJ/MMA. You could not hope to find a finer teacher and mentor anywhere. We are proud to call our sons instructor Coach D but even more honored to call Danny Ives our friend. Go train with him before he is too booked up to fit any more students on his roster!!
Commment 4: Ive been training at Ivey League Mixed Martial arts for about 10 month and it has changed my life. In this time I have lost 60 pound and without a doubt can say I am in the best shape of my life. I have learned valuable self defense skill along with making many wonderful friends. If you looking for kids martial arts of a program for yourself I could not recommend training with Danny Ives enough. Anyone living in the Severna Park Bowie Annapolis Odenton area really should stop by and see for yourself. Its amazing
Commment 5: I must say that I would never picture myself doing what I am doing now a couple years ago. But I have no regrets whatsoever since starting Ivey League MMA in June of 2009. I have never been a fighter I have previously never seen a full boxing match a full Mixed Martial Arts fight or really even known what Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or BJJ even is!! I have had nothing but a great and wonderful experience with the coaches the students and the competitions that I have done in the past year. I needed a personal dedication and passion to something and I was having a hard time finding that certain thing. But once I walked into the doors of Ivey League and completed my first class of Muay Thai I wanted to sign up right away! I felt extremely comfortable with the coaches and students and the coaches went above and beyond to help me through basic moves and with lots of patience I might add!!
